Adam Olen
Strategic advisor helping leaders and organizations navigate complexity, clarify direction, and move forward.
Adam Olen is a strategic advisor who works with leaders and organizations navigating complexity, growth, and change.
He is often brought in at moments when progress has slowed, decisions carry more weight, or the path forward is no longer clear.
His work spans growth-stage businesses, nonprofit organizations, industry associations, and public sector environments.
He has helped launch companies, supported organizations through periods of instability, and worked alongside leadership teams navigating decisions that shape direction. His work has contributed to acquisitions, operational improvements, and sustained growth across a range of contexts.
Earlier in his career, Adam worked directly across operations, marketing, and technology. He managed teams, built systems, and carried real financial accountability. He has helped shape internal processes, improve coordination across teams, and bring greater coherence to organizations as they scale.
He is often sought out when something is not working, but the reason is not immediately clear, or when leadership teams need an independent perspective grounded in experience.
Approach
Adam’s approach is grounded in a simple idea:
Clear thinking, honest communication, and disciplined process tend to produce better outcomes than speed, pressure, or force of will.
He works alongside leaders as a thinking partner. He helps them understand what is actually happening, identify what matters most, and move forward with greater clarity.
That work often includes naming things that are easy to miss or difficult to say, and helping teams align around a more accurate view of reality.
Public service
Adam serves as a City Councilmember in Duvall, Washington.
His work in public service has deepened his understanding of decision-making in complex environments where information is incomplete, perspectives differ, and outcomes carry real consequences for a community.
It has also reinforced the importance of process, transparency, and the responsibility that comes with leadership.
Perspective
Adam’s work is shaped not only by experience, but by a longstanding interest in how people think, decide, and make meaning.
He holds a degree in Philosophy and has been recognized for his ability to engage deeply with complex ideas, connect perspectives, and bring clarity to situations that are difficult to navigate.
His approach reflects both practical experience and an ongoing commitment to understanding the patterns that shape organizations, leadership, and human behavior.
Credentials
Adam holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Magna Cum Laude from Florida International University and was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He also studied Religious Studies at Indiana University.
He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with additional training in bookkeeping and financial operations.
He has served on governance and advisory boards across sectors including STEM and aviation education, youth entrepreneurship, childhood health, affordable housing, and the arts.
Writing
Adam writes at AdamOlen.com, where he shares reflections on leadership, civic life, books he’s reading, and an ongoing practice log from a year-long leadership development program. Writing is one of the ways he works through what he’s learning, and often where the clearest version of his thinking shows up. If you want a better sense of how he thinks, that’s probably the most direct place to start.
Personal
Adam lives in Duvall, Washington with his family. He is a husband and father, and much of his perspective on responsibility and long-term thinking is shaped by that role.
Outside of his work, he spends time reading, writing, and being outdoors, often on local trails or in the surrounding mountains. Those rhythms provide an important counterbalance to the kind of work he does and continue to shape how he thinks about clarity, perspective, and decision-making.
